If it's red, it's lead

Yippee, skippee!  I have a lead paint testing kit.  Yep, our neighbor, Kenyon, just stopped by and dropped it off.  I was out in the yard spearing dandelions when Kenyon pulled up.  We had talked yesterday about the "railing job" I wanted to do and how the City was dragging its feet about determining whether the existing paint was lead-based paint.  Kenyon said, "Hey I got a painter buddy, I will ask him."  The painter buddy not only gave Kenyon an earful but also passed on the kit.  Click here to read about it.

We are heading down to the Greenebelt now to have our walk and collect some paint samples to test upon our return.  This will be a real bellweather day for the railing job.  If it's lead, I ain't touching it no mo.  If it's not, then the project can proceed.

Stay tuned.  Cheers, jp

It's NOT lead-based paint!  That's a huge piece of news!  The railings and the test results are shown above.
