Football Training

Read The Story to Understand The Story!
I go so far back with football training, it's hard to believe...but it's true.

My earliest memory of attending a football training session was probably when I was 3 or 4 years old when my parents took me to Purdue Boilermaker football training sessions.  Mom & Dad were Life Long Boiler Fans and they wanted to get me hooked early in the game, so to speak.

I was just beginning to actually "get" the rudiments of a memory when I was 3 or 4 years old.  But my Mom used those "words" on me way back when she said. "You're Never Going To Forget This."  Well, it's true, I never did.

Imagine being basically a baby and staring up at 16,000 foot humans whose shoulders wer as wide as a mountain range.

But the bottom line is that I was hooked at a very early age in watching large male humans mess around with a weird object supposedly made from a pig's skin.

So, as I grew up in Lafayette, Indiana, I had more and more exposure to Boilermaker football training and began attending games even before I officially enrolled in the university.  That's how I learned about Dick Butkus.

And that's why told my high school buddies we HAD to go to Saint Joseph's College in Rensaleer, Indiana, to watch Dick practice.  Trust me, we were THE ONLY people watching the Chicago Bears practice at St. Joe's back then.  The Bears players took "a liking" to us kids and they would come over and talk to us and it was really, really cool.  They were ALL Larger Than Life People and we were shrimpy high school fan boys.

And that's how it all began for me to be a Fan Boy at football training.

There's MUCH more to tell about how the Fan Boy Story evolved but at least you have a beginning.
